The Builder Magazine

The Builder Magazine was launched in 1843 by Joseph Aloysius Hansom, architect of Birmingham Town Hall and designer of the Hansom Cab, and continued up until 1966, when it was superseded by The Builder, (now Building). It described itself as 'An Illustrated Weekly Magazine for the Architect, Engineer, Archeologist, Constructor, Sanitary Reformer, and Art-Lover' and covered architecture from all over the world, not just the UK, being notable for the very high quality of its illustrations, (a small selection of which we have for sale in store).
